Pedrosa in doubt for US MotoGP
MADRID (AFP) — Spanish MotoGP title
contender Dani Pedrosa could miss this weekend's United States leg of
the series because of injuries he suffered in a crash at Sunday's
German race.
The Honda rider broke his left wrist
and a finger in his left hand, whilst also spraining his right ankle.
"A decision as to whether he
rides in the United States or not will be taken either on Tuesday or
Wednesday," the team announced.
Pedrosa had set a searing pace in the
wet conditions in Germany and was over five seconds ahead when he came
to grief after five of the 30 laps.
Australian world champion Casey
Stoner went on to win the race - his third successive victory - while
Rossi was second, giving him enough points to overhaul Pedrosa at the
top of the standings.
Rossi leads Pedrosa by 16 points
while Stoner is four points adrift of the Spaniard
