Quick Facts
Pabatco, a division of Farm Chemicals of Oregon, imported bikes from the Hodaka Industrial Company of Nagoya in Japan in the early '60s. When the Japanese company went bankrupt, Pabatco offered to design and market the bike if Hodaka - whose name in Japanese means "to grow higher" - would adapt its factory to manufacture and assemble the entire machine.
