KTM is waiting on new 690 Adventure

ADVENTURERS hoping to follow in the tyre tracks of their Dakar heroes will have to wait another couple of years before KTM has a bike similar to their winning 690 Rally.

The last KTM that was similar was the 640 Adventure.

KTM Australia spokeswoman Lizzie Doyle confirmed a 690 Adventure would be coming, but was about two years away.

"It will be a 2012 model at this stage, but a 690 Enduro Traveller which is a filler model until KTM get the 690 Adventure is scheduled to come out in 2011," she said.

The Traveller is expected to be a 690 Enduro with a larger fuel capacity and probably a larger screen and luggage, which are already available as options.

"In regards to the 690 Adventure, the marketing team say even 2012 is still not official," she said. "They have been told it's coming for some time."
